The latest video from the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon series titled “Performance Pages” will leave you even more excited (or possibly scared) for this new powerful muscle car. The video shows off the Performance Pages feature that the Demon will have, which is basically a report card of how the car performed after putting it to the test. There is also another possible easter egg in this video, and people are speculating that it has to do with horsepower.
The Performance Pages feature looks really awesome. In the video the Uconnect screen shows the Dodge Demon blasting up to over 135 mph. On the same screen we also see a report of horsepower, torque, engine rpm, shift points, and much more. From this screen, drivers will be able to get a full report of how their vehicle performed as well as be able to use it to change the powertrain and chassis setup. They’ll also have three drive modes to choose from: Auto, Drag, and Custom. Dodge says these features will allow drivers to really optimize their vehicle for weather and track conditions.
There are actually many local places around Minnesota that you could legally go and put this feature to the test. One great place is Brainerd International Raceway in Brainer, MN. They host all sorts of driving events that anyone can take part in, including Drag Wednesdays! Who knows, with all the potential power packed inside of the new 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, you might just be the one to beat at one of these future events.
Speaking of power, there has been a lot of speculation about how just much horsepower the new Dodge Demon will have. In the latest video, we see the time 7:57 on the screen. Some are predicting that this is Dodge hinting to us that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will have 757 horsepower. The number 757 was slyly placed throughout other videos in the series as well. There is a license plate reading 0757 in one video, and a Sirius/XM station playing “7 70’s on 7.” in another. However, some still insist that this Challenger will have over 900 horsepower. Why? Because the Dodge Hellcat already gets 707 horsepower, and with all the crazy hype over the demon they think it has to get more than just 50 more horsepower than the Hellcat.
However much horsepower it does end up getting, all I know is that I’m moving swiftly out of the way if I see a new Dodge Demon trying to pass me on the highway. The daunting video also shows off the Quick Cooldown feature on the screen. This is meant to be activated after a drag run. It uses Dodge’s new After-Run Chiller which cools the engine down quickly to get it to the desired temperature. The fact that this street legal car is so powerful that it needs a whole function just to cool it off is not frightening at all! Nope, not at all.
