2017 Crawl 4 the Cure: a 4×4 Weekend Adventure to Fight MS!

Alexis Austin News

If you’re interested in off-road shenanigans for a good cause, check out the 2017 Crawl 4 The Cure! The Crawl was created by two local 4×4 clubs in 2005 to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Upper Midwest Chapter. Since its creation, the Crawl has raised over $775,000 to fight MS!

2017 Crawl 4 the Cure

Crawl 4 the Cure is held in Gilbert, MN each year. Off-road enthusiasts bring their vehicles out to the Iron Range Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area for a weekend of camaraderie, challenge, and to raise money and awareness for MS. The park is the state’s first public off-road park, full of tight winding trails, large hill climbs, and rock-crawling ravines. Whether you’re an old hat to off-roading or this is your first outing in a new Wrangler, there’s a trail for you. Stock and modified 4x4s are welcome! The park is full of trails of varying difficulties, and the club is there to help you pick the best one for your vehicle and level of comfort. This weekend will give you a chance to see what you and your vehicle can conquer, including MS!

100% of the Crawl’s profits go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Upper Midwest Chapter. There is a minimum $250 donation per vehicle, which includes the driver and passenger. Additional riders over 15 years old will be an additional $25. Crawl 4 the Cure encourages you to raise money for your donation from friends, coworkers, sponsors, company matches, or other creative fundraising solutions, so don’t feel like you have to pay out of pocket! You can even form a team of family or friends to get the most fun and fundraising out of the weekend. Maybe grab some friends and hold a charity car wash in your neighborhood, so that everyone’s vehicle is squeaky-clean just in time to get muddy!

Trail rides are scheduled for mornings and afternoons, rain or shine, on Friday and Saturday. There are also lots of activities for kids to enjoy throughout the day, so bring your family along for the ride! Children under 15 can come along for free — but be sure to pre-register, so that there’s enough BBQ for everybody! Crawl 4 the Cure has reserved the entire Sherwood Forest Campground, and you’ll be able to participate in group activities and dinners after a hard day of trail riding. There’s also a silent auction during the Saturday banquet — you can show up to bid on items like the winch that Forest Lake Auto Group will be donating!

Forest Lake Auto Group is proud to sponsor the 2017 Crawl 4 the Cure, and we hope we’ll see you there! All makes and models are welcome on the Crawl. The event starts on Thursday July 13th, and there’s still time to register. If you show up with a Jeep vehicle, we’d love to see it! Our Director of Operations, Mike Koskinen, will be attending this year’s event. He’ll be ready to assist anyone who wants to know more about getting the best off-road performance out of their Jeep. Whether this is your first time off-roading a Jeep or your latest of many adventures, stop in and say hi to Mike this weekend! Crawl 4 the Cure is a great 4×4 event for a good cause, and we hope to see everyone have a fun, safe weekend!
